The leadership of the Stonewall Library & Archives, Inc. has made a strategic decision and is taking steps to insure that this unique archive and library continues to grow to serve the national community of scholars, dedicated members, and the growing audiences visiting South Florida, including GLBT communities and the public at large.
A vision has emerged of a fiscally astute, professional organization with a permanent home for a constantly improving Stonewall Library & Archives, including expanded facilities for impressive educational and cultural programs. Strategic plans include four specific areas of professional and program expansion: (1) Acquisitions; (2) Professional Staff; (3) Literary and Historic Education Programs; and (4) Professional Exhibition Programs.
The Stonewall Library and Archives Foundation has begun to meet this
challenge by initiating a Capital Campaign to support current planning
and infrastructure development to provide a first rate facility to implement
expansion goals. A $1 Million fundraising goal has been set- divided
equally between facilities and endowment. With expanded support from
existing contributors and the investments of others in the community
who are inspired by its vision, Stonewall Library & Archives is poised
to rise to a new level of prominence and effectiveness. Together, we
can ensure that its goals will become a reality.
